Lesson 67: Organizing Your Desktop

Keep Your Desktop Tidy: How to Organize Files and Shortcuts

It's Day 67, and today we'll talk about how to organize your desktop. A cluttered desktop can make it hard to find the files or apps you need quickly. Organizing it helps you stay more efficient and reduces frustration.

How to Organize Your Desktop:

  1. Create Folders: Group related files into folders. For example, create folders like Work Documents, Photos, or Personal to keep things organized.

  2. Use Shortcuts: Keep shortcuts to frequently used apps or files on your desktop for easy access. Right-click on a file or app, and select Create Shortcut (Windows) or Make Alias (Mac).

  3. Remove Unnecessary Files: Delete or move files you don't need on your desktop to keep things tidy.

Why It's Important:

A tidy desktop makes it easier to find what you need without searching through clutter. It also helps your computer stay organized, which can improve your productivity.

Try It Out:

Spend some time organizing your desktop today. Move files into folders, delete things you no longer need, and create shortcuts to your most-used apps or documents.

Pro Tip:

For better organization, create subfolders within folders. For example, inside your Work Documents folder, you can create additional folders for different projects or years.
