Lesson 73: Managing Your Computer's Power Settings

How to Adjust Your Computer's Power Settings for Better Performance

It's Day 73, and today we'll learn how to manage your computer's power settings. Adjusting power settings can help your computer run more efficiently and extend battery life (if you're using a laptop).

How to Adjust Power Settings:

  1. On Windows: Go to Settings → System → Power & Sleep. Here, you can adjust when the screen turns off or when the computer goes to sleep.

  2. On Mac: Open System Preferences → Energy Saver (or Battery for newer Macs). You can set when the screen dims or when the computer goes to sleep to save energy.

Why It's Important:

Managing your power settings helps you control how much energy your computer uses. If you're using a laptop, these settings are especially important for conserving battery life.

Try It Out:

Open your computer's power settings and adjust the sleep or display timers to suit your needs. Try setting your computer to sleep after a few minutes of inactivity to save energy.

Pro Tip:

For laptops, choose the Power Saver mode when you're not plugged in to extend battery life.
